Defeating Merciless in DC Dark Legion’s Combat Cycle: A Comprehensive Guide
Welcome, Commanders! If you’re struggling with the Combat Cycle in DC Dark Legion, know that you’re not alone. This challenging game mode requires a well-developed roster to tackle its formidable bosses. Today, we’re discussing Merciless.
Understanding Merciless
The Merciless is a boss who stands back and summons constant waves of enemies. While you’re fighting them, he can open a chasm in a line across the screen that causes a significant amount of damage.
Key Strategies and Champion Roles
To conquer Merciless, you’ll need:
Area of Effect (AOE) Damage: Focus on Champions that can damage multiple enemies at once.
Damage Over Time (DOT): DOT effects can help rack up damage for the duration of the fight.
Strong Healing: AOE Healers like Ivy, Mera, or Green Lantern are crucial for surviving Merciless’s Fires of Hades attack.
Warriors or Guardians in the front line: You’ll need a couple warriors or guardians to deal with the waves of enemies that spawn on the frotn right and front left of the battlefield.
##Recommended Champions and Team Compositions
Here’s a breakdown of recommended Champions and team compositions tailored to different player spending levels:
Non-Spenders:
Consider using your standard Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Black Adam, Mera, and Harley Quinn or Superman composition. Red Hood is also a good option here due to his AOE Ultimate.
Light Spenders:
Similar to non-spenders, but Batman and Harley are both very high quality options here. A three white star Ivy might be a good option over Mera to get some additional damage on the enemy waves and pull aggro away from your tanks.
Whales:
High single-target DPS champions like Superman and Green Arrow can do well in this fight with enough investment. Robin, The Joker, Sinestro, and Deathstroke will also end up doing quite well. However, AOE is the name of the game here. The best champions will end up being Constantine + Zatanna, Batman, Harley, and Ivy. The Joker can perform well, but you will find that he doesn’t have enough time to inflict a lot of Joker Venom on targets due to their low health pool.
Gameplay Tips and Tricks
Traps: Guardian characters aren’t that useful in this mode. Try to use Warriors to put out additional DPS. Avoid Aquaman unless you have a very heavily developed Justice League roster.
Ivy’s Aggro and Healing: Ivy’s vines can draw aggro and provide valuable healing.
Manual Control: Sometimes manually controlling your healers is better than relying on AI.
Watch for Fires of Hades: Look out for Fires of Hades and be ready to react in manual mode with a heal if needed.
Example Team Compositions and Performance
Comp 1: Superman, Ivy, Batman, Constantine, Zatanna: This composition relies on Superman and Batman controlling the mobs up front with Zatanna buffing damage and Constantine making quick work of the waves.
Comp 2: Superman, Mera, Green Arrow, Black Adam, Harley: This comp is very F2P viabile.
Important Notes
Merciless provides AC/DC shards, so you really want to get the hang of this fight fast.
